What is the Kephir Ministry?

Kephir (keh-feer) is a Hebrew phrase that means “young lion.”

It refers to Psalm 34:10-11, which states,

The young lions suffer want and hunger;

but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.

Come, O children, listen to me;

I will teach you the fear of the Lord.

This verse refers to young people or children as “young lions,” and encourages them to seek and listen to the Lord. Our goal here in Kephir is to raise young lions who know and love Jesus Christ. Young believers that understand their faith and live for God’s kingdom.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to nurture, encourage, and empower the faith of Christ in the lives of elementary, middle school, and high school students. We desire to make disciples of young believers so as to give them the proper foundations to begin their lives on the solid rock of Jesus Christ, our Lord and savior.

Vision

Our vision is to build a body of Christ that has a strong relationship with, and support from, our church families. We want to help create an environment for families to grow spiritually together with God. We believe that the core foundations of a child’s faith start in their homes. We believe that when you (the parents) and our ministry unite together we will be able to help our students grow and someday blossom in Christ.
